RANIKHET: Inaugurating a workshop on the strategy for the development of
Ayurveda and medicinal plants in Uttarakhand, Rajesh Kotecha, secretary at AYUSH ministry, said that the production of herbs and Himalayan medicines can check migration from the hill regions of the state.
“It is crucial to promote the disappearing Himalayan medicines and herbs. To this end, locals must be encouraged to cultivate ayurvedic herbs.
It can also be an effective way to deal with migration from hills,” Kotecha said.
The official added that the AYUSH ministry will soon hold talks with the state government to open a 50-bed ayurvedic hospital in Almora.
